Philippine Pre-Trip Report
April 10, 2006
from Harry Osborne in Oklahoma City
In a few hours, I will be taking off
for another trip to the Philippines to preach the
gospel. Please keep our efforts in your prayers that
the precious seed of the gospel will be planted and
bear fruits in many hearts.
The Lord willing, I will arrive in Manila late Tuesday
evening and take off to General Santos City (GenSan)
early the next morning. GenSan is on the south end
of the main southern island of Mindanao. Jonathan
Carino and I will be working together there until
Saturday when I will return to Manila. On Saturday
night, Mike Lusby will join me to work in the preacher
training classes at Tuguegarao. Steve Wallace will
be joining us to teach in those classes as well. I
will write reports as often as possible during the
journey, but will probably not be able to get computer
access for the first report until this coming Saturday.
I appreciate more than words can express the help
sent by so many brethren to make this trip possible.
The Waco church in Indiana sent $5000 to help on the
trip itself. The Centerville congregation in Texas
sent $3000 to pay for the books used in the preacher
training effort at Tuguegarao. The 84th Street congregation
here in Oklahoma City paid my transportation costs
of about $2000 as they have each trip. Numerous individuals
also gave generously for buying Bibles, helping with
benevolent needs, sending support to Filipino preachers
and expenses associated with this trip. Without your
help, the trip would not be possible and I want you
to know how much I appreciate your fellowship with
me in this great work. Each of you are truly co-laborers
in the work being done.
While I look forward to the trip ahead, I will miss
my wife and the brethren here at the 84th Street church.
In the past 2 weeks, we have all been thrilled by
the 4 baptisms and 6 new deacons appointed! It has
been a great year being with the brethren here as
the baptistery has been in continued use with all
working to reach the lost both at home and abroad.
The church here has been an answer to our prayers
as Leslie and I have been welcomed from the start
and made to feel a part of a very loving family. Before
I left, I wanted to let you know again how much we
appreciate your love and support -- it has helped
more than you will ever know. We love you all!
After I get to Tuguegarao, I will have access to my
e-mail account so you can contact me there. May the
Lord bless you all in your efforts to serve Him each
day. You will remain in my prayers each day as I hope
I will be in your prayers also.
Brotherly, Harry O.
