Advancing Homosexuality, Denouncing Biblical Morality
by Harry Osborne

With our current set of federal government officials, it is rare that a week goes by without an attempt to advance the homosexual agenda. Whether it be the President and his administration or the United States Congress, our government seems bent on legitimizing the homosexual lifestyle and even favoring homosexuals as recipients of preferred status. At the same time, they are openly denouncing and deriding all who adhere to biblical morality. Lest anyone question the validity of that conclusion, please consider the evidence.
President Obama campaigned and now governs as an extreme advocate of the pro-homosexual agenda. Please note the following excerpt from a news story about President Obama’s address at a fundraiser for an activist organization to advance homosexual rights:
President Barack Obama spoke Saturday at the annual fundraiser for the gay-activist Human Rights Campaign (HRC).
The president told the crowd he supports the gay activist agenda.
"When you look back on these years," he said, "you will see a time in which we as a nation finally recognized relationships between two men or two women as just as real and admirable as relationships between a man and a woman."
Obama promised that he would end "Don't Ask, Don't Tell," the Clinton-era policy that allows gay men and women to serve in the armed forces as long as they don't reveal their sexual orientation.
Robert Knight, senior writer for Coral Ridge Ministries, said the president is simply trying to please a powerful and vocal constituency.
"Homosexual activists learned long ago that if they scream loudly and often, they get more of what they want," he said. "So even if they get 95 percent of something, they say, 'What have you done for us lately'?"
The president also promised to pass hate-crimes legislation and repeal the federal Defense of Marriage Act.
He said those who uphold marriage between one man and one woman, "hold fast to outworn arguments and old attitudes."
"That would be the Bible," said Knight. "All people who think it's normal and natural for marriage to be between a man and a woman, the president of the United States is saying that's old and outworn." [Steve Jordahl, “President Obama Speaks at Gay-Activist Event,” CitizenLink.com, 10/12/09]
As bad as that is, our President is not alone in advancing the pro-homosexual agenda. Three days before President Obama’s above speech to support a homosexual advocate group, the Congress voted on legislation to give favored status in protection of homosexuals. Please read the following excerpt from the Los Angeles Times:
A long-debated bill to broaden the federal hate-crime law to cover violence against gays was approved Thursday by the Democratic-controlled House in what would be the first major expansion of the law in more than 40 years.
The measure, which is expected to go before the Senate within days, had faced a veto threat from President George W. Bush, but it has President Obama's support.
White House spokesman Tommy Vietor said that Obama looked forward to signing the bill.
"As the president said back in April, the hate-crimes bill takes on an important civil rights issue to protect all of our citizens from violent acts of intolerance, while also protecting our freedom of speech and association," he said. A version passed the Senate in July by a filibuster-proof 63-28 vote, so its passage this time seems assured.
"It's a very exciting day for us here in the Capitol," said House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-San Francisco), noting that she has pushed for expanding the law since her arrival in Congress 22 years ago.
"What makes these crimes so bad is they are not just crimes against individuals; they are crimes against entire communities," Rep. Jared Polis, a Colorado Democrat who is gay, said during the debate.
Opponents of the measure have argued that existing laws cover hate crimes. "Violent attacks on people are already illegal regardless of the motive behind them," said Rep. Mike Pence (R-Ind.), warning that the legislation would "put us on a slippery slope of deeming particular groups as more important than others under our system of justice."
Republican lawmakers also objected to the placement of the hate-crimes measure: attached to a $680-billion defense policy bill, which included a 3.4% pay increase for the military and authorization for the development of a new engine for the next-generation jet fighter, among other items.
Rep. Ken Calvert (R-Corona) said that Democrats had needlessly introduced a "partisan matter in an otherwise bipartisan defense bill for our troops." Rep. Joe Wilson (R-S.C.) accused Democrats of hijacking the bill to "push their partisan agenda." "It sends a terrible message to our military that this provision has been shoved into this bill when it does nothing for our military families or our national defense," he said.
The hate-crime legislation would expand the law to cover acts of violence motivated by a victim's sexual orientation, gender, disability or gender identity. Existing federal law defines hate crimes as those motivated by bias based on religion, race, national origin or color.

All can agree upon the equal protection of the law provided for the protection against violent attack of all people. However, the homosexual agenda does not seek merely an equal protection under the law, but a privileged status that defines the disapproval and disgust for the practice of homosexuality as criminal. There is a major difference between the two. To put this pro-homosexual agenda into a bill to provide for national defense (a legitimate function of government as noted in Romans 13 and other passages) is both shameful and contemptible!
How does God view the practice of homosexuality? Let us see what the Bible says:
Romans 1:26-27 - "For this reason God gave them up to vile passions. For even their women exchanged the natural use for what is against nature. Likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust for one another, men with men committing what is shameful, and receiving in themselves the penalty of their error which was due."
1 Corinthians 6:9-10 - "Do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived. Neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor homosexuals, nor sodomites, nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners will inherit the kingdom of God."
Deuteronomy 23:17 - "There shall be no prostitute of the daughters of Israel, neither shall there be a sodomite of the sons of Israel."
Leviticus 20:13 - "If a man lies with a male as he lies with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination. They shall surely be put to death. Their blood shall be upon them."
Leviticus 18:22 - "You shall not lie with a male as with a woman. It is an abomination."
The 18th and 20th chapters of Leviticus condemn it as unlawful in the same context and even with much the same wording as adultery, obscenity, prostitution, incest, pedophilia and bestiality. If our government is consistent, it will be forced to enact laws giving favor protection to the practice of adultery, obscenity, prostitution, incest, pedophilia and bestiality. When people begin to call good “evil” and evil “good,” the path is set for further corruption and decadence. Our nation needs desperately to awake before we find ourselves in the same pit with Sodom.
